Job Summary:
The Physical Therapy Technician works only under onsite supervision of a PT or PTA. Will perform specific patient treatments as directed by the therapist, prepare the patient and/or treatment area, responsible for maintaining the physical order of the department, and with clerical duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- May perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific function may change from time to time.
- Transfers and positions patients appropriately.
- Maintains physical order of the department.
- Cleans equipment following each patient use and processes trash and linen appropriately.
- Assists with the clerical duties as needed.
- Responds to staff requests promptly.
- Assists other support staff in order to promote an efficient delivery of PT services.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of on the job training, including initial and annual competency training/demonstration.
- This includes successful completion and maintenance of BLS certification.
