Data Scientist – Academic Track

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing team in Berlin and support the development of our product and data capabilities.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong academic background in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field, who is looking to apply their knowledge in a fast-moving, product-focused environment.

You’ll work closely with senior team members and gain hands-on experience with modelling, experimentation, and user behaviour analytics.

What You’ll Work On

- Assist in building and evaluating machine learning models that help personalise recommendations and improve user engagement and conversion
- Support the development and optimisation of incentives and reward structures
- Work with data analytics and engineering to improve data pipelines and data quality
- Contribute to documentation, measurement plans, and experimentation frameworks
- Help define and track KPIs to ensure analyses and models support real product impact

Your Role

- Take ownership of smaller projects and features under the guidance of senior data scientists
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to integrate models and insights into the product
- Support improvements in data workflows and processes
- Participate in technical discussions and bring forward analytical ideas and observations

You Have

- A strong academic background in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
- Solid understanding of statistical modelling, experimentation, and data analysis
- Experience with Python and SQL, gained through coursework, research projects, or internships
- Familiarity with machine learning tools such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Bonus Points

- Academic or internship experience with ML pipelines or cloud environments
- Exposure to incentive systems, gaming environments, or user behaviour datasets
- Interest in experimentation, automation, or consumer-facing digital products
