Business Unit Overview:

US Wealth Advisory (USWA) Business   delivers BlackRock's full set of capabilities - iShares, alpha-seeking and alternative products, portfolio   solutions   and technology services - to wealth management firms and financial advisors in the US.

The   Advisor   Engagement   group   within the USWA Business delivers   a broad set of services and client engagement approaches that amplify the work of our client teams. This includes digital client engagement, business consulting, thought leadership, advisor growth programs, and advisor education. The team also works closely with Global Marketing to design an integrated USWA marketing strategy .    WEA (Wealth Enablement and Analytics) Engineering   t eam within   Advisor Engagement group   is responsible for   developing new tools and capabilities which enable Sales, Portfolio Consulting, and   other   Wealth   D istribution   partners   to self-service their advisor engagements, and drive innovation and scale.

Job Purpose/Background:

We are seeking an energetic professional   to   lead a team of Full Stack developers   and   have   hands on technical experience in design and development of   Python  based Applications   and   Angular   based   Interactive Data Visualization solutions.

The successful candidate will play a   key role in advancing the organization's Applied AI strategy   by integrating AI-powered capabilities into   portfolio design   platforms, engineering workflows, and business processes. The individual will   identify   opportunities where AI can create measurable business value, improve productivity, and enhance client and advisor experiences while ensuring responsibility and governed adoption of AI technologies.

The individual must have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and extensive experience building multi-tier applications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. Attention to detail and creativity in problem solving are critical skills.

Key   Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Full Stack engineers, providing both technical leadership and people management while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Drive the successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives and complex programs, ensuring high-quality execution, operational excellence, and   timely   delivery in partnership with business stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams.

- Define and execute the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for   portfolio design   platforms and applications,   leveraging   enterprise capabilities and promoting scalable, reusable solutions that maximize business value.

- Champion Agile software development   practices   including planning, prioritization, backlog management, sprint execution, and continuous improvement to enhance team effectiveness and delivery outcomes.

- Establish and   maintain   engineering best practices across software development, production readiness, operational resilience, risk management, and platform governance.

- Lead the adoption of Applied AI technologies and AI-assisted engineering practices to improve developer productivity, accelerate delivery, and enhance business and client experiences.

- Identify, evaluate, and deliver AI-enabled solutions, intelligent workflows, and automation opportunities that drive advisor engagement, operational efficiency, and measurable business impact.

- Partner closely with enterprise technology teams and business stakeholders to evaluate emerging technologies and translate innovative capabilities into scalable, production-ready solutions.

- Promote responsible AI adoption by   establishing   best practices around governance, security, model evaluation, risk management, and compliance with enterprise standards.

- Serve as a strategic thought partner to business and technology leaders by challenging the status quo,   identifying   opportunities for innovation, and driving transformational initiatives that advance organizational   objectives.

- Mentor and coach engineers and technical leaders, promoting AI literacy, technical excellence, and professional development across the organization.

- Adapt priorities and execution plans to meet evolving business needs while supporting firm-wide initiatives and delivering high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors or   M aster’s   D egree in Computer Science , Engineering or   a related   discipline.

Eligibility Criteria:

- 9–12 years of software engineering experience, preferably within the financial services industry, with at least 4 years leading high-performing Full Stack development teams.

- Strong hands-on   expertise   in Python and modern web application development using frameworks such as Angular or React, with a solid understanding of APIs, HTTP, and REST-based   architecture.

- Proven experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise-scale applications, including production infrastructure, deployment architectures, resiliency strategies, and business continuity planning.

- Experience   leveraging   AI-assisted development tools and delivering AI-enabled applications, intelligent workflows, or automation solutions that improve business outcomes and engineering productivity.

- Strong understanding of Generative AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and enterprise AI architectures.

- Hands-on experience with AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Agentic AI solutions, including exposure to vector databases, semantic search, AI orchestration frameworks, and enterprise AI platforms.

- Familiarity with Responsible AI principles, governance frameworks, model risk management, and the practical application of AI to software engineering, analytics, advisor engagement, and workflow automation.

- Demonstrated ability to make sound technical and business decisions by balancing risk, governance, operational considerations, and long-term strategic   objectives.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across business and technology organizations globally.

- Track record   of delivering high-impact solutions, building strong partnerships, and achieving   high levels   of business stakeholder satisfaction.

- Passion for technology and business innovation, with the ability to connect strategic   objectives   to technical execution and   identify   opportunities to drive scale and efficiency.

- Knowledge of the financial services industry and wealth management domain is strongly preferred.

- Flexibility to collaborate across global teams and support varying business and delivery schedules as needed.
