About this role

Central Transfer & Recycle Center (CRC) , a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven,  Heavy Equipment Operator,  to work at our Central Transfer Station in Vancouver, WA.

Pay range is  $28.00/HR with and increase to $29.00/HR after 90-days pending a positive performance review.

Schedule is  Wednesday-Sunday

Shift is

- 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Saturday, Sunday

Safety Sensitive:  Yes

Qualified candidates must have  938 CAT Loader, 308 CAT Excavator, Forklift, Backhoe, Yard Truck  and 53ft chassis/   Trailer  experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- REQUIRES  ability to efficiently & safely operate  938 CAT Loader, 308 CAT Excavator, Forklift, Backhoe, Yard Truck  and 53ft chassis/   Trailer  experience.
- Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment is required.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 500-hours  of  Heavy Equipment Operating  experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Heavy Equipment Operating certification from an accredited trade school  preferred .
- Basic knowledge of computer skills.
- Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position include  drug panel screening, motor vehicle report, &   criminal background check.
