About this role

Position Summary

InterJet  West is seeking an experienced Flight Mechanic to travel with and support our Boeing 737  aircraft  in a 24/7 cargo operation. This position combines  aircraft  maintenance and Loadmaster responsibilities. Primary duties include performing inspections and service checks, troubleshooting  aircraft  discrepancies, and overseeing the safe loading, securing, and unloading of cargo to help  maintain  safe and efficient flight operations.

When not assigned to a flight rotation, the Flight Mechanic may provide maintenance support on other  company  and customer  aircraft .

This position follows an 18- days -on/12- days -off schedule and requires extensive travel, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The position may be home-based, and relocation is not  required ; however, employees must be able to report to the assigned  aircraft  or designated reporting location at the beginning of each rotation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform Flight Mechanic duties  in accordance with  applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and approved maintenance procedures.

- Travel with assigned  aircraft  and provide maintenance support throughout scheduled cargo operations.

- Perform service checks, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and ground maintenance as authorized.

- Identify , document, and communicate  aircraft  discrepancies for  appropriate maintenance  review and corrective action.

- Complete required maintenance records and documentation accurately and promptly.

- Coordinate with flight crews, Maintenance Control, and other operational personnel  regarding   aircraft  status and maintenance needs.

- Oversee and  participate  in the safe loading, positioning, securing, and unloading of cargo  in accordance with  company procedures and operational requirements.   Successfully complete company-provided Loadmaster training.

- Complete  required cargo-related inspections, documentation, and communications.

- Provide maintenance support in the hangar and on company or external customer  aircraft  through an affiliated Part 145 repair station, as assigned.

- Work in  varying  weather and environmental conditions during both daytime and nighttime operations.

- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in  a safe  and orderly  condition .

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate.

- Minimum of two years of maintenance experience on Boeing  aircraft ; Boeing 737 experience  strongly  preferred.

- Ability to perform both Flight Mechanic and Loadmaster responsibilities.

- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position and complete required documentation.

- Current passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

- Legally authorized to work in the United States.

- Ability to obtain and  maintain  all required airport credentials, including a SIDA badge.

- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings and background checks.

- Ability to  work  an 18- days -on/12-days-off rotation and report to the assigned  aircraft  or designated reporting location at the beginning of each rotation.

- Flexibility to work varying hours, overtime, and extended assignments based on operational needs.

- Ability to  lift up  to 75 pounds, climb ladders and maintenance stands, work at heights, and maneuver safely in and around  aircraft .

- Required to own and  maintain  a set of tools  appropriate for  performing  aircraft  maintenance.

- Required to own and  maintain  a compatible Apple iPad for use as an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB). The device must meet current company specifications.
