Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Dialysis Technician to join our Home Therapies team on a part-time basis.
This position works closely with the Home Therapies RN to support patients receiving home hemodialysis (HHD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD). This is a Monday through Friday position, with part-time hours based on the needs of the Home Therapies program. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and passionate about helping patients successfully manage dialysis at home.
Responsibilities
Patient Care & Home Therapies Support
• Assist with Home Therapies clinic operations and patient visits
• Support home hemodialysis patient training and ongoing education under RN supervision
• Assist with home hemodialysis treatments, including establishing vascular access, treatment setup, monitoring, and discontinuation as appropriate and within scope of practice
• Prepare dialysis machines, equipment, and treatment areas
• Follow infection-control and aseptic-technique requirements
• Obtain and document vital signs, weights, and other treatment information
• Assist with laboratory specimen collection and processing
• Reinforce patient education and established treatment procedures
• Identify and promptly report patient concerns or changes in condition to the RN

Documentation & Administrative Support
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the patient medical record
• Assist with ongoing review and organization of patient charts to ensure required documentation is current and complete
• Maintain and organize clinical documents, treatment records, laboratory results, and other Home Therapies records
• Assist with scanning, filing, faxing, and tracking patient-related documentation
• Help identify missing, incomplete, or expired documentation and communicate needed follow-up to the appropriate team member
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements when handling, transmitting, and storing protected health information
• Support organization of Home Therapies forms, logs, policies, and other required program documentation

Clinic & Equipment Support
• Support PD and HHD supply organization and inventory management
• Clean and disinfect equipment and treatment areas according to policy
• Assist with maintaining an organized and treatment-ready Home Therapies clinic
• Assist the Home Therapies team with additional clinical and operational needs

Qualifications
• Previous dialysis technician experience required
• Hemodialysis experience within the last two years required
• CCHT certification preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS certification
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively while also functioning independently
• Reliable and adaptable in a small, patient-centered dialysis program

The right candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership of their responsibilities while working closely with the Home Therapies RN to keep patient care and program documentation organized and up to date.
This is a part-time opportunity to play an important role in a growing Home Therapies program.
