Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Facilities & Cleaning Technician safely and effectively performs general  facilities  maintenance, preventive maintenance, custodial services, and appearance-related tasks throughout the FBO. This position  is responsible for   maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment for customers, tenants, and employees while supporting daily FBO operations.

Location: Santa Ana, CA (John Wayne Airport | KSNA)

Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Position Type : Full Time

​Compensation & Benefits: $26.83 - $30.00 per hour; eligible for Clay Lacy Aviation Comprehensive Benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, the Facilities & Cleaning Technician safely and effectively performs general  facilities  maintenance, preventive maintenance, custodial services, and appearance-related tasks throughout the FBO. This position  is responsible for   maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment for customers, tenants, and employees while supporting daily FBO operations.

- Safely  maintain  the facility  in accordance with  all applicable government and regulatory requirements while  demonstrating  safe work practices.

- Respond to facilities requests and  assist  the Facilities and Ground Service Equipment Mechanic.

- Support the team with employee moves, events, visitors, shipping or receiving, and all other related tasks.

- Clean and maintain FBO offices, conference rooms, pilot lounges, restrooms,  toilets  kitchens, and  common areas .

- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and  maintain  all interior and exterior flooring.

- Clean and  maintain   aircraft  hangar floors, including sweeping, scrubbing, pressure washing (when  appropriate) , and removing debris, oil stains, and other contaminants.

- Wash, detail, vacuum, and  maintain  customer, courtesy, shuttle vehicles, golf carts, and other FBO vehicles.

- Wash  dishes  and put them away accordingly.

- Empty trash receptacles, replenish consumable supplies, and  maintain  cleanliness throughout the facility.

- Clean windows, furniture, fixtures, appliances, and other facility surfaces.

- Support employee moves,  special events , visitors, shipping/receiving, and facility setup activities.

- Coordinate with vendors and contractors as directed and  assist  with oversight of on-site work.

- Identify  facility deficiencies and recommend or perform corrective actions.

- Maintain tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies in a safe and organized manner.

- Assist  with exterior cleanliness including sidewalks, ramps, entryways, and landscaped areas.

- Comply with  all company policies, procedures, and practices.

- Perform other duties and tasks assigned in support of FBO operations.

Position-Specific Skills

- Ability to safely  operate  cleaning equipment and power tools.

- Ability to  lift up  to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

- Valid driver ’ s license with an acceptable driving record.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service.

Essential Job Functions

- Able to  comply with  all safety requirements necessary to perform the job safely.

- Ability to  maintain  regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.

- Pass pre-employment drug testing and background check

- Always provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients .

- Complete Clay Lacy Aviation and other job-related training.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, direct interface, over telephone   and in writing.

- Ability to make decisions with multiple  objectives  and  implement them  in a safe, efficient manner.

- Follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; and  maintain  good working relationships with others.

- Schedules are subject to change. Employees must be available to work flexible hours as changes  occur,  examples include overtime, holidays, and covering time-off for the team .

- Ability to work without direct management supervision.

- Must be comfortable with working outdoors, day,  night  and in all weather conditions.

The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or noise.

- Step up and down stairs, ladders, and vehicles.

- Work effectively while sitting, standing, walking, or running.

- Able to engage safely and effectively in gross and fine motor control movements such as operating machinery, company  vehicles  and handheld tools.

- Reach  above  shoulder level.

- Reach at  shoulder  level.

- Complete tasks safely and effectively that require hand and eye coordination.

- Lift, carry, push, and pull objects (broomsticks, ladders, power tools etc.) from ground level to waist and overhead, up to 75 lbs.

- Bending and stooping to pick up tools, and other equipment, up to 75 lbs.

- Standing and walking for extended periods of time, running when  required .

- Must be able to reason, analyze, and solve problems.

- Must be able to communicate clearly with clients,  leadership  and others.

- Basic computer skills.

- Must  have basic math skills.

- Always work safely and effectively.

- Must  work well with others.

- Must be able to prioritize and multitask in a distracting environment.

Required Education and Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous custodial, facilities, maintenance, janitorial, or similar experience preferred.

- Previous  experience working in an FBO, aviation, hospitality, or  other  customer-service environment is a plus.
