POSITION TITLE: MECHANIC II

DPW – SEWER DIVISION

AFSCME LOCAL 1700 – GRADE 10

FULL-TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK)

PAY RANGE: $31.3171 TO $42.0966 PER HOUR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performs all preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment.

- Consults Assistant Superintendent regarding preventative maintenance program.

- Inspect plant and mechanical equipment for malfunctions and needed repairs.

- Shall be capable of using and maintaining all tools and equipment used in the Department.

- Shall be familiar with all safety equipment used in the Department.

- Is required to keep all electrical equipment such as motors, generators, motor starters, etc. in operating conditions

- Willingness to fill in and be involved with plant operations and collection systems.

- Hours are 40 hours per week; emergency overtime as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability and knowledge in maintenance of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, buildings, structures and grounds

- Knowledge of processes and equipment involved in Wastewater Treatment, compost operation, sewer system and pump stations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

- High School or Trade School education or equivalent training or experience
