Overview

Paralegal - Workers Compensation

Remote - South FloridaKelley Kronenberg’s West Palm Beach office is adding a Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to its defense team. This is a remote position based out of South Florida , ideal for a paralegal with three or more years of experience defending workers’ compensation claims who is ready to take ownership of a busy caseload, communicate confidently with attorneys and clients, and keep pace with Florida’s workers’ compensation procedural requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and correspondence for attorney review and approval.

- Prepare discovery objections, track privilege logs, and respond to opposing counsel’s requests.

- Build out medical chronologies, case timelines, and wage-loss summaries for each active file.

- Own case file administration end-to-end: calendaring deadlines, coordinating depositions, and communicating with clients and adjusters.

- Handle e-filing through the eJCC portal and assemble trial preparation materials, including exhibits and case summaries.

- Work side-by-side with attorneys to anticipate next steps and keep cases on track.

- Log billable hours daily and ensure all billing entries are accurate and complete.

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of paralegal experience in workers’ compensation defense or a comparable insurance defense practice.

- Familiarity with Florida workers’ compensation statutes and the 60Q Rules of Procedure .

- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with PDF software (Adobe Acrobat, Kofax).

- Prior use of the eJCC filing system ; exposure to Client Profiles/ATO or similar case management platforms is a plus.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and stay accountable in a remote role.

- High attention to detail and dependable organizational habits.

- ABA-accredited Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required.
