About this role

Location: State Farm, VA, the Transitional Womens Work Release Program (TWWR) mission is to teach low-security level inmates who are 4-10 months from release of incarceration effective coping skills to lead a pro-social, drug-free life and assist those eligible to obtain employment in the community.

Schedule: Hours will vary

Pay Rate: $18.33/hour

The Transportation Officer is responsible for:

- Providing transportation for clients to and from the facility and employment in the community.

- Conducting visual inspections of vehicles at the beginning of each shift documenting any issues or concerns using the Spectrum Daily Vehicle Inspection Checklist.

- Logging all trips and mileage keeping an accurate accounting of each trip, individuals present in the vehicle, purpose of transportation, beginning and ending mileage, the date and time of day.

- Bringing vehicles for routine maintenance and service and directed by the Program Director.

- Addressing program participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly while providing transportation.

- Reporting traffic violations, parking tickets, accidents, and any other issue to the Program Director immediately.

- Completing assigned driver safety training within 30 days of employment.

- Serving as role-model/mentor for offenders while maintaining professional boundaries.

- Reporting infractions of work release program rules, issues at work and other behavioral issues to the Program Director immediately as identified.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Must have a clean driving record and have the ability to drive for long periods of time.

- Knowledge of the geographic area surrounding the facility and previous experience providing transportation as part of employment is a plus.

- Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
