About this role

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is looking for experienced MIG Welders to join our fabrication shop. In this role you will work both independently and on a team with minimal supervision.

Schedule:

- 1st Shift , 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary

Responsibilities:

- Weld structural steel members using MIG (gmaw) wirefeed processes
- Weld in 3G and 4G positions according to safety-oriented procedures
- Read welding symbols and understand testing requirements
- Follow proper safety instructions
- Work in a team environment
- Perform other duties as needed by supervision

Education Requirements:

- Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or related experience as a certified structural steel welder as determined by the plant manager

Job Requirements/Special Skills:

Specific Structural Welding Skills:

- Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using GMAW process on 3/8“ material
- Good verbal communication skills with other employees
- Positive attitude
- Open minded with a vision for continuous improvement
- Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements
- Ability to read blueprints

Specific Physical Skills:

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to step over and work on top of fixtures that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary
- Ab i lity to st o o p, b e n d, c r awl, and cli m b l a d d e r s th ro u gh o ut the s hift
- Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
- Ability to work from heights utilizing ladders and lifts
