Job Summary: The role of the Parking Lot Attendant is to assist passengers with safely and efficiently parking their vehicles in a manner that minimizes risk of damage and capitalizes on the use of limited parking space in our parking lot. This is a fast-paced job that requires a lot of movement and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is outgoing, energetic, and friendly; someone who doesn't mind hard work outdoors, assisting customers in a professional and cheerful manner.
Job Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a professional and courteous first point of contact for passengers upon arrival to our property
Handle cash and credit card transactions from paid parking lots
Answer general questions for customers about train departures and travel expectations
Direct passengers to assigned parking spaces, making sure to fully utilize the limited area of the parking lot and direct passengers to boarding areas
Close and/or move gates, barricade, safety cones, safety chains, as necessary
Assist with keeping the parking lot clean of trash, debris
Fill out appropriate paperwork as required by supervisor/manager
Communicate with management regarding any safety concerns
Put your safety and the safety of our guests first and foremost
Qualifications
Education, Skill & Experience:
Ability to think on your feet, making quick and accurate decisions regarding customer safety and parking
Experience in providing excellent customer service to passengers
Money Handling
Ability to multitask and problem solve
Must be able to effectively communicate in written and verbal English.
Work Environment:
Varied work environment with a majority of time spent outdoors in all weather conditions.
Long periods spent standing, walking, or moving on uneven ground around railyard and railroad equipment.
