About this role
About the Company
Valerie Health is the AI front office for independent provider groups. We are reimagining how independent practices operate by using AI to modernize patient/provider communication, enhance care, and drive industry-changing operational efficiencies.
Why join us now?
- Team: We are led by Pete Shalek (2x health tech exits, including a $600M acquisition by Optum) and Nitin Joshi (scaled Uber Eats + Health, Stripe Connect, and Bridge–acquired by Stripe for $1.1B). Beyond our founders, our team brings DNA from category leaders (Uber, Stripe, Meta), high-growth unicorns, and top consulting firms.
- Trajectory: We partner with leading independent provider groups across the U.S., automating hundreds of thousands of tasks each month. Scaling at 7x year-over-year with 300% NRR as customers consistently expand usage.
- Funding: We have raised $39m from world-class investors including Redpoint Ventures, General Catalyst, Primary Ventures, and BoxGroup.
About the role
As an Agent Operations Manager, you will own a portfolio of workflows and drive them from manual or partially automated processes toward reliable, scalable automation. You will lead implementations, improve production performance, resolve complex issues, and make the tradeoffs that determine where Agent Operations should focus next.
You will take ambiguous operational problems from discovery through production: understand how customer workflows operate, translate requirements into agent behavior, launch workflows, diagnose failures, and continuously improve performance. You will independently prioritize across competing customer and workflow needs based on automation impact, quality, urgency, operational effort, and long-term leverage.
You will partner closely with Customer Strategy, Operations, and Engineering, and lead workflow discussions directly with customers when needed. You will also help shape how Agent Operations works by identifying recurring patterns, developing reusable approaches, and helping more junior teammates solve difficult problems.
This is a high-ownership role for operators who combine analytical judgment, technical fluency, and the ability to make things happen across teams.
What you’ll do
- Lead complex implementations: Own workflow discovery, configuration, testing, launch readiness, and post-launch performance across your portfolio.
- Drive automation and performance: Identify where human effort is concentrated, diagnose failure modes, and improve automation efficiency, quality, SLA performance, and time to resolution.
- Make technical and operational tradeoffs: Decide what Agent Operations can solve directly, what requires process changes, and when Engineering support is needed.
- Prioritize the highest-leverage work: Balance customer impact, urgency, operational effort, and long-term scalability across competing workflows and issues.
- Build leverage for the team: Turn successful approaches into reusable configurations, testing methods, monitoring, and playbooks, while helping more junior teammates solve difficult problems.
About you
We expect candidates with roughly 3-6 years of experience in areas such as technical or analytical operations, product, implementation, consulting, data, or related roles. We care more about demonstrated scope, judgment, and ownership than a specific tenure range.
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Have independently owned complex operational or technical work from ambiguous problem through launch and ongoing performance
- Consistently identify the highest-leverage problems and make strong tradeoffs without significant direction
- Combine analytical and systems thinking with a builder mindset and an instinct to improve how things work
- Are comfortable using data and technical tools to investigate problems and quickly learn systems such as SQL, APIs, integrations, logs, and agent configuration
- Can drive work across Engineering, Operations, Customer Strategy, and customers while communicating clearly and making decisions with incomplete information
What We Offer
- Build at the forefront of applied AI, with meaningful ownership and rapid learning in an AI-native, high-growth startup
- Competitive salary, equity and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and flexible PTO
- SF Office: Daily catered lunch and dinner reimbursement
