IDRA is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to achieve equal educational opportunity through strong public schools that prepare all students to access and succeed in college.
IDRA seeks Deputy Director of Advocacy & Community Partnerships based in or near Austin, whose primary duties will include :
- Connecting students, families, educators and community leaders to local, state and federal advocacy opportunities through IDRA’s priorities
- Collaborat ing with IDRA’s policy, advocacy and community engagement team and other staff to create and execute state-level advocacy strategies for the organization’s policy priorities (https://www.idra.org/education-policy/) . This includes in-person advocacy, coordinating coalition engagement opportunities ( e . g . , advocacy days), and relationship building at the Texas Capitol in Austin and other relevant agencies and organizations during and between legislative sessions.
- Develop ing campaign strategies for and conven ing , manag ing and expanding the membership and reach of the Texas Legislative Education Equity Coalition (https://www.idra.org/education_policy/texas-legislative-education-equity-coalition/) (TLEEC); coordinat ing other organizations and individual stakeholders to engage in issue-specific advocacy campaigns; and represent ing IDRA in Texas -based advocacy coalitions.
- Support ing and d evelop ing relationships with other advocacy organizations to execute state-level advocacy campaigns for IDRA’s policy priorities.
- Testify ing on behalf of IDRA and/or TLEEC before the Texas legislature, state board of education, and relevant state and local agencies and governing bodies .
- Support ing the IDRA Education Policy Fellows program (https://www.idra.org/education_policy/idra-education-policy-fellows-program/) , including by helping to develop and present program curricula and directly supervise Texas-based fellows.

Compensation : Minimum salary is $ 80 ,000. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
