About this role
- Perform standard structural welding to produce frames, bases, structural assemblies, sections and parts in accordance with recognized welding procedures.
- Set and adjust welding machine.
- Select and cut materials to size using power saw, torch, etc. as indicated by drawing or bill of materials.
- Set up work pieces to avoid distortion and clamp or position pieces to maintain dimensional accuracy. May use holding fixtures where available.
- Select rod and make necessary number of passes to ensure structural strength.
- May grind, fit and align units and parts to fit. Clean and check weld.
- Work from drawings, blueprints, job instructions, bills of material. Use rule, scale, square gauges and other tools as necessary.
- Shift and hours subject to change during peak months (must be flexible)
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires general knowledge of Mig, Arc and Flux Cored welding techniques and procedures generally working with standard materials not requiring certified welding.
- A minimum of two years’ experience required.
- Must have ability to read blueprints and drawings.
Must be able to operate a variety of hand operated power tools
