About this role

Manage the administrative work flow and paperwork for the Service Department. Assist the Service Location Manager in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service departments operation within the dealership.

Responsibilities:

- Opens work orders as directed by the Service Location Manager and reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing

- Assists with the development and implementation of training of service personnel and may complete performance reviews of service staff

- Assists in the implementation and management of the Service Departments processes and procedures

- Supervises Service Clerks in daily job responsibilities

- Handles customer calls and schedules Service Technicians

- Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work orders

- Assists Service Clerk in creating and transferring JD LINK accounts

- Prepares Service Technician efficiency reports

- May assist with Service Technician learning paths

- Processes warranty and product improvement claims including the computation of charges, submission and follow-up

- May assist the Service Location Manager in developing, implementing and managing processes and procedures

- Understands and ensures adherence to corporate and customer data policies

- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- 3+ years experience as a Service Clerk or equivalent

- Ability to lead and motivate others

- Basic knowledge of accounting practices

- Willingness to learn and work hard

- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions, including Lasseter business systems

- Knowledge of Deere and competitor equipment, and other allied products

- Ability to work extended hours and weekends and willingness to be on-call 24/7

- Knowledge of office procedures

- General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred

- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
