About this role

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all .

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

The Heterogeneous Integration Group (HIG) is a division within the Technology and Products Group (TPG). We are developing High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) solutions for AI and ML applications! Using TSV (Through Silicon Via), we stack multiple DRAM chips on a high-speed memory controller with an integrated logic chip in one package, significantly increasing memory density and bandwidth through parallelization. Our designs leverage both custom digital and RTL2GDS flows, and our ultimate goal is to deliver the lowest power per bit solutions in the industry.

We are looking for a Staff Verification Architect to architect and develop modular, scalable verification solutions — spanning both IP-level and SoC-level verification - for next-generation HBM DRAM products across different customer platforms. You will join a highly multi-functional team of technical domain experts working closely with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, Business Units, and external customer teams. This collaboration helps ensure our future HBM roadmap is successful. You will apply your deep understanding of testbench architecture, verification approaches for custom builds, SoC verification methodologies, and 2.5D & 3D package integration to analyze bottlenecks and propose innovative solutions targeting outstanding scalability, quality, testbench performance, and verification cycle time, while continuously growing your expertise across both IP and SoC domains.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver high-quality, timely verification and architecture tasks for IP-level and SoC-level work. Develop turnkey verification solutions for upcoming inventions using look-ahead data from customers and the architecture team.
- Drive co-verification of overall system through direct customer interactions, engaging with customers to support current HBM architectures and find opportunities to innovate on future solutions
- Build verification methodology improvements and GenAI applications with a roadmap aligned to HBM design cycles, driving continuous improvement in verification schedules, quality, and capability
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, contributing to team development, collaboration, and cross-group standardization
- Debug and identify root causes for pre-silicon and post-silicon issues in current HBM products, and pathfind new architectures for future products through highly technical feasibility analyses

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of relevant verification engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: digital (Verilog), analog (FastSpice), or mixed-signal verification (co-sims or real number modeling)
- 4+ years of experience in custom design verification (schematic-based) or RTL design verification flows
- Demonstrated ability to independently define and drive verification strategies for complex projects, with strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 9+ years of relevant verification engineering experience
- One or more patents, trade secrets, or publications showcasing innovation and problem-solving in verification solutions
- Track record of building or reworking verification flows from scratch with 4+ years in memory products using standardized specifications such as JEDEC, preferably HBM
- Understanding of the complete scope of pre-silicon verification from design kick-off to tapeout and memory subsystem operation in high-performance computing applications
