Full-Stack Engineer (Backend Focused)

*While TeamSnap is a remote-first company, this role requires candidates to be located in the greater Los Angeles region to work in-person 3 days a week. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate in-person with local teammates in the R&D organization while continuing to enjoy the flexibility of the hybrid culture.
We are looking for a mid-level Fullstack Software Engineer, with a backend lean, to join our Consumer Foundations team in a hybrid remote and in-person capacity. This role requires the person to be located in the greater Los Angeles region and work in-person 3 days a week, with one of those days being Thursday to take advantage of NMT.
TeamSnap remains a remote-first company. This role is a specific and intentional approach for one opening where we believe the combination of remote flexibility and regular in-person mentorship will create a stronger growth environment for a mid-level engineer. This is NOT a broader return-to-office shift, a location strategy change, or a signal that existing remote roles are changing.
Our goal is to hire a high-executing mid-level engineer who is excited to grow quickly through regular face-to-face mentorship with Théo while still operating within our remote-first engineering culture.

What You'll Do:

- Build and maintain applications, APIs, and services that scale to support millions of users across our mobile and web applications.

- Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver customer-facing features from concept through production.

- Collaborate and pair with teammates to solve problems, share knowledge, and deliver high-quality software.

- Follow and contribute to our engineering best practices, including testing, code review, and maintainable software design.

- Build features across our backend services and React-based web applications.

What Will Set You Up for Success:

- 2-5 years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production applications.

- Experienced in backend development with Node, Typescript / Javascript; and frontend web development with React or similar.

- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL / GCP Cloud SQL.

- Hands-on experience developing APIs, services for mobile applications, and web clients at scale.

- Experience working within and towards a distributed system.

Compensation
We’re committed to equitable compensation for all TeamSnappers. The minimum starting point for this role is $140,000, inclusive of base and bonus, with comp updated based on multiple factors. Our comp is highly competitive in our space and we adjust overall comp based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

TeamSnap is a fully remote company, so you need to be very comfortable working with people who aren’t in the same time zone as you. We are always expanding, but there is a small list of states we do not hire in, including Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Dakota and West Virginia and while we love all parts of the world, we can only hire permanent US residents at this time.
