JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Altoona, a public related institution ,   invites candidates for   the job of Part-time Assistant   Swimming   Coach .   The assistant coach r eports to the head coach and is responsible for assisting in the   management of all   aspects of the swimming   program.

Job Duties

Duties include,   but will not be limited to:

- C oaching in meets.
- R ecruitment   of student athletes.
- Practice sessions.
- Assisting with   team fundraising
- Team travel.

Requirements and Qualifications

- ​ Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate ,   and develo p Division III student-athletes.
- K nowledge of the sport and a verifiable ability to teach both fundame ntals and strategies of the sport   is necess ary.
- This person must possess   a commitment to high academic standards, and the NCAA Division III philosophy.
- A successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity.
- Applicants mus t be well versed in the sport   and have previous coaching   or   instructing   experience.

Penn State Altoona is a member of the NCAA Division III, Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) ,   and the Eastern Coll ege Athletic Conference (ECAC).   Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until position is filled . This is a part-time position.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
