Backend Engineer

We are looking for a passionate Backend Engineer to join our growing TLV R&D center and become a core member of our Payments Charges team. This team is a central pillar of Lendbuzz.
We are responsible for the financial engine of the company: processing loan repayments and managing massive fund transfers to car dealerships. You will work on highly critical, high-volume systems where accuracy, reliability, and performance are absolute musts.
We embrace modern development practices. Our engineering team actively leverages Agentic AI tools and AI-assisted IDEs to enhance our daily workflows, accelerate coding, and focus on solving complex architectural challenges.

Responsibilities

- Build backend system from the ground up.

- Design and collaborate with the engineering team to build architecture and system design for new products.

- Build internal products and integrate with external API’s.

- Play a role in building, expanding, testing and releasing of a product helping thousands happy customers.

- Leverage AI coding assistants to boost productivity, while maintaining strict code quality, security, and critical review standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Top-tier university degree with a GPA of 90+ / Graduated with honors is a strong plus).

- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in backend development.

- Strong programming skills, with expertise in Python .

- Deep understanding and proven experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent).

- Experience designing and integrating with APIs (RESTful services).

- Knowledge in testing methodologies

- Tech-savvy and adaptable: Experience or a strong desire to incorporate AI dev tools into your daily workflow, combined with the critical thinking needed to review and validate AI-generated code.

- Independent, proactive, with great interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-Have:

- Previous experience in Fintech, billing, or payment systems.

- Experience working with microservices architecture.

- Familiarity with AWS .
