About this role
Responsibilities include:
- Welcome all children and families.
- Provide outstanding care while following area-specific procedures which may include changing and disposing of diapers, leading age-appropriate activities, and relaying any pertinent information to families about their children.
- Engage in the planning, preparation, and execution of games, activities, and schedules for all age groups.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all children, following area-specific procedures which may include disinfecting toys, putting equipment back in age-specific areas, alerting the manager about broken equipment, and logging cleaning supplies.
- Observe children’s behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures; apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Attend all required training and meetings.
- Comply with safety and emergency procedures.
- Maintain good attendance and have reliable transportation.
- Follow all J rules, regulations, and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous childcare experience is essential.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Able to assist in emergency situations as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be available to work some weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to perform all duties of the job including bending, squatting, sitting on the floor, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
