Overview

OVERVIEW: Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is hiring two teachers for its inquiry-based, hands-on Saturday STEM drone programs in O’Fallon. The program will serveup to 36 middle school students.

- Dates: October 3, November 7, and December 5, 2026.

- This position requires:

2 hours of training (virtually) TBD

- 8 hours of curriculum review5 hours of teaching, classroom set up and take down during each Saturday

- STEM session date listed above

- Teachers will be paid an hourly rate of $35/hour

POSITION SUMMARY: This position delivers hands-on instruction to program participants in the greaterO’Fallon area. All program materials are provided. Each teacher is supported by one ormore volunteer assistants.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Attend training and learn curricular content and activities as presented by IMSAHub Manager.

- Assist in the organization and implementation of said program.

- Teach and supervise students as part of the IMSA Saturday STEM programs

- Engage with other teacher in the organization of the programs.

- Communicate with other staff members about programmatic needs.

- Supervise and collaborate with teacher assistants, when applicable.

- Organize provided supplies for program.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education (mathematics and/or sciencepreferred.)

- Strong content background in mathematics and/or science

- Teaching experience in grade levels indicated

- Energetic and fun-loving approach to STEM

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
