What this Journey Looks Like

At Pearster , we’re looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer with strong Node.js expertise to join an international project with an important Canadian fintech client .

We’re looking for a proactive developer with strong English communication skills and experience migrating applications .

This is a remote opportunity for professionals based in LATAM , working in EST hours .

You’ll join an international project focused on application migration , collaborating with a Canadian fintech client and distributed teams.

The initial focus of the project will be migrating applications from an older version of Node.js that is approaching end of support to a newer, supported version .

After the migration is completed, you’ll continue working with the team, providing ongoing support and maintenance for the applications running on the new Node.js version .

The main technology stack is Node.js for the backend, MongoDB for storage, and React for the frontend .

This opportunity is ideal for a senior developer who can bring strong Node.js expertise , proactively identify potential issues, and take ownership of technical challenges throughout the migration and post-migration phases.

What You'll Lead and Build

- Contribute to the migration and modernization of existing applications .
- Upgrade applications from an older Node.js version to a newer, supported version .
- Identify and resolve compatibility issues, dependencies, and technical challenges related to the Node.js upgrade.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance after the migration , working with the applications in the new Node.js environment.
- Develop and maintain backend solutions using Node.js .
- Work with MongoDB for data storage.
- Develop and maintain frontend applications using React .
- Collaborate with technical and cross-functional teams throughout the migration and post-migration phases.
- Proactively identify challenges and contribute to technical solutions.

What You Bring to the Table

- Senior-level professional experience with Node.js and backend development.
- Strong, hands-on Node.js expertise , with the ability to independently troubleshoot and solve complex backend issues.
- Experience upgrading Node.js versions and/or migrating applications between different runtime or framework versions .
- Strong understanding of Node.js dependencies, compatibility issues, and application maintenance .
- Experience developing and maintaining production applications with Node.js .
- Experience with MongoDB .
- Experience with React .
- Ability to take technical ownership and work independently when solving migration and application issues.
- Proactive mindset and strong communication skills.
- Advanced English to communicate confidently with an international client and team.
- Availability to work in EST hours .
- Must be currently based in LATAM .
