Opportunity based in CIC.
As the Technical Drawings Specialist at the Straumann Development Center, the primary responsibility is to prepare technical drawings for product development projects. Also evaluate technical solutions and utilize specialized design tools and software to create accurate and detailed models.
Additional responsibility to ensure the proper documentation of all technical drawings.
What can you expect from your day with us?
- Preparation and accountability for technical drawings in life cycle development projects.
- Evaluation of technical solutions and conducting feasibility studies.
- Utilizing design tools and specialized software to create accurate and detailed models.
- Translating user needs into designs/technical drawings.
- Participation and accountability for certain verification and validation (V&V) activities.
- Involvement in design transfer activities.
- Assessment of business opportunities associated with design modifications.
- Ensuring the documentation of technical drawings is maintained in the Design Historical File (DHF)
What do you need to have or know?
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field
- Knowledge and experience in mechanical technical drawing.
- Knowledge and experience with the Vault system.
- Knowledge and experience with the Inventor system.
- Desired knowledge of the 3DSMAX system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with SAP.
- Fluently in english
- Solid experience in areas related to the development of medical devices or other highly regulated products
- Experience in the development of medical implants and instruments is an advantage.
- Solid experience in product development and manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (MDR, FDA, ISO, ASTM).
- Strong understanding of project control processes.
- Knowledge of specific development tools (e.g., statistical analysis).
- Understanding of mechanical testing methods (e.g., fatigue testing) and FEA is a differenciator.
- Knowledge of medical device manufacturing processes (e.g., machining).
