About this role

Dakota Bodies is seeking experienced Brake Press Operators! 1st and 2nd shift available; 2nd shift receives shift premium pay!

Job Duties and Tasks

- Sets stops on machine bed, changes die, and adjusts components, such as ram or power press, when making multiple or successive passes.

- Operates power press, power brake, apron brake, swaging machine, foot-powered press, hydraulic press, or arbor press according to specifications.

- Installs, aligns, and secures gears, holding fixtures, dies to machine bed, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.

- Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal.

- Inspects workpiece for defects.

- Measures workpiece and verifies dimensions and weight, using micrometer, template, straightedge, and scale.

- Selects and positions flat, block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine, using hoist, crane, measuring instruments and hand tools including tape measure.

- Possess knowledge in forklift operations up to 6,000lb lift.

- Separates materials and organizes materials on pallets.

- Identify parts and placements of said parts on correct pallets or workstations.

- Assist Laser operator in material handling operations. Loading/Unloading Laser as needed with materials.

- Dump Scrap material in designated area.

- Remove materials from workstations and deliver to different areas throughout the plant.

- Bonus—Basic Knowledge of Machine Operations IE Press Brake/Saw/Shear/Small Drill

- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

2 - 5 Years Press Brake experience

Ability to perform preventative maintenance on machine

Able to lift 40-50lb independently and with assistance.

Excellent attendance
