About this role

OBJECTIVE

To help ensure and maintain a clean, safe, efficient facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performs general cleanup of factory. Duties include, but not limited to:

- Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.

- Performs routine maintenance activities.

- Performs heavy cleaning duties.

- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.

- Gathers and empties trash.

- Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.

- Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.

- Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.

- Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.

- Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.

- Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space, and parking lot

- Performs minor repairs and maintenance on assigned equipment. Assists in the repair and maintenance of the cooperative's grounds and buildings.

- Operates forklift

- Remove and dispose of litter and wastepaper daily. Inside and Outside the facility.

- Remove snow, entryways, and walks, etc.

- Maintain clean/ clear exit’s and pathways throughout shop.

- Will assist in Maintenance duties as needed.

- Job may require some exposure to adverse weather conditions, heavy lifting, awkward working positions, and hazards. Must possess physical abilities to accomplish duties.

- Additional duties as assigned.

- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests

Qualifications

Qualifications / Skills:

- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures

- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours

- Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time

- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions

- Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals

- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules

- Communication skills

- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at heights

- Ability to work well under minimal supervision

- Capacity to take direction

- Strong attention to detail

- Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary

Education and Experience Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Basic math skills

- High school courses in shop may be preferred for jobs involving repair work
