Assistant Plant Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Oversee the daily operations of your assigned work cells.  Primary responsibilities will be to train, plan, organize, direct, and complete packaging and production orders.

JOB DUTIES:

- Direct supervisors and crew leaders in assigned areas of greenhouse

- Communicate with receiving department of supplies, and resource needs

- Review production schedules and packaging plan with supervisors, communicate to Plant Manger labor needs for work cell assignments

- Teach train and develop supervisors and hourly personnel.

- Prepare and maintain packaging and production reports in Microsoft Teams

- Ensure the use of work instructions and run rates, use of tracking tools hour by hour boards

- Maintain and promote Safety activities to provide a safe working environment

- Involved in creating SOP’s and work instructions alongside the Continuous Improvement Team

- Responsible for the implementation of SOP’s and training of the staff

- All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS and Education requirements:

- College Degree or equal Work Experience

- Previous experience in front-line supervision

- 4+ years of management experience in a diverse environment

- Experience with Microsoft office: word, excel, power point

- Ability to work with all levels of employees and management

- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment

- Hands on commitment to getting the job done in a safe manner

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Strong leadership and motivational skills

PHYSICAL Environment & Requi rements:

- Climate controlled office or home office environment

- Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking

- Frequently requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, and handling

- Occasionally requires walking, climbing stairs, lifting (up to 20lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
