About this role
This position responsible for providing coordination of patient care within the Radiation Oncology Department, working under the direction of a supervisor. This position will serve as a liaison between the patients and the providers and will coordinate patient care. Acts as a point of contact regarding appointment scheduling, pre-authorizations, and registration of related appointments and procedures for patients. Using strong critical thinking skills, the coordinator will assess and remove barriers such as transportation and recommended appropriate interventions and support services to meet the needs of the patient. Additionally, it requires scheduling cancer patients timely, retrieving outside records for coordination of care, obtaining and verifying insurance information, scheduling appropriate pre-appointment testing, and obtaining prior-authorizations and referrals, as well as coordinating transportation with InspiraGo as needed. Acts as physician support.
