Job Title: SNOWMAKING STAFF I

Rate of Pay: $20.00/hr

Shift: Available 7 days per week, including both Evenings and night shifts (temporary)

Full Time: November - January. On-Call: February

(Shifts & Hours based on optimal snowmaking conditions)

FLSA Status: Hourly/Nonexempt

SUMMARY

Responsible for producing and securing a base of artificial snow on all slopes requiring snowmaking and providing maintenance on all snowmaking equipment while being a good steward of the mountain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Monitor weather conditions and adjust equipment accordingly to insure optimal production and quality of snow.

- Inspect, test, and care for all snowmaking equipment on a nightly basis.

- Maintain all equipment involved in producing snow including; hoses, cords, snow guns, pumps, etc. to insure minimal loss of production due to need for repairs.

- Control snowmaking equipment while it is running to ensure safe, cost-effective, and quality production of snow.

- Coordinate with grooming crew to arrange for snow gun placement.

- Coordinate with Terrain Park crew to insure adequate coverage and assess needs in the terrain park.

- Safely operate a snowmobile and other mountain vehicles including rangers, trucks etc.

- Make safety the number one priority when making decisions.

- Comply with no idling policy.

QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be mechanically inclined.

- Valid Driver's License

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move between 50 and 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
