Canton, OH | Full-Time | Onsite

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

415 Group is a growing public accounting firm in Northeast Ohio. We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to lead our internal accounting and payroll operations.

This is a hands-on position with responsibility for payroll, accounts payable, general-ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.

What You Will Do

- Manage the monthly and year-end close processes.

- Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, and adjustments.

- Reconcile bank, balance-sheet, credit card, payroll, and other general-ledger accounts.

- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for leadership.

- Monitor cash activity and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

- Process payroll from beginning to end through ADP, including employee changes, deductions, bonuses, terminations, and off-cycle payments.

- Review timekeeping information and resolve payroll exceptions with department leaders.

- Reconcile benefit, retirement-plan, garnishment, and other payroll deductions.

- Oversee accounts payable, including invoice coding, approvals, payments, expense reimbursements, and vendor records.

- Reconcile vendor statements, credit card activity, and accounts payable aging.

- Prepare annual 1099 filings and support W-2 processing.

- Assist with insurance, workers’ compensation, and other financial audits.

- Strengthen internal controls, document procedures, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

- Serve as a responsive and trusted accounting resource for employees, partners, department leaders, and vendors.

What You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.

- Strong experience with payroll, accounts payable, general-ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.

- Solid understanding of debits, credits, accrual accounting, and internal controls.

- ADP or comparable payroll-system experience.

- QuickBooks experience preferred.

- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with detailed financial information.

- Working knowledge of payroll compliance, garnishments, W-2s, and 1099 reporting.

- Public accounting or professional-services experience preferred.

- CPA preferred.

- Strong organization, accuracy, judgment, and follow-through.

- Ability to manage confidential employee, compensation, and financial information.

- Professional and responsive communication with employees, leadership, and vendors.
