Engineer Staff - Turbines

This role has an expertise in rotating equipment, specifically reciprocating turbines. May direct work of other engineers and/or support staff. Activities typically involve assignments of a specialized function or engineering discipline and include technical and economic evaluation, performance testing, design and construction of new facilities, or upgrading existing facilities, and research on new developments.

As a Turbine Engineer Power (Staff) you will work independently to anticipate internal and external business trends on major projects and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and standards. You will advise and deliver technical presentations to our management team and direct the work of others which will be key to your success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:

- Performs technical and economic evaluation, performance testing, design and construction of new facilities, or upgrading existing facilities, and research on new developments
- Performs sophisticated technical tasks and leads teams in complex projects
- Participates in the development and implementation of technical standards and specifications; champions best safety, engineering, and procurement standards
- Interprets technological aspects of business and coordinates with management to assure success
- Delivers and advises on technical presentations to leadership
- Applies expertise, knowledge and experience from projects that positively impact earnings
- Serves as a specialist in rotating equipment, specifically gas and steam turbine equipment in gas compression and power generation application.
- Develops innovative services, technologies, processes or products that addresses future internal/external customer problems or needs
- Anticipates internal/external business/regulatory trends and recommends improvements
- Collaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans to meet training needs
- Serves as a technical subject matter expert in gas turbine and reciprocating engine power generation with expertise in generator controls technology
- Performs technical analysis of various generator manufacturer 5MW and larger
- Analyzes equipment reliability, generator vibration, generator health with transient loading, and generator protection
- Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of fifteen (15) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry

Other Requirements:

- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
- Demonstrates expertise in rotating equipment, specifically gas and steam turbines in both gas compression and power generation
