As Alfabs Mining continues to expand its presence and field service capability in Queensland, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Service Technician to join our growing team and support customers across Queensland's underground coal mining operations.

Alfabs Mining designs, manufactures, repairs and supports specialised underground mining equipment, including QDS, Secondary Support, Longwall Move and Material Handling Equipment used by some of Australia's leading mining operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Electrical Manager, you will provide field-based electrical support to Alfabs customers across Queensland underground mine sites, helping maintain the performance, safety and reliability of specialised mining equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Diagnosing, fault finding and repairing electrical systems on underground mining equipment
- Performing planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and emergency call-outs at customer mine sites
- Electrical assembly, refurbishment and commissioning of mining equipment
- Installing, testing and commissioning electrical components and control systems
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and engineering drawings
- Completing testing, inspections and documentation in accordance with statutory, site and Alfabs requirements
- Troubleshooting complex electrical faults and providing practical solutions in the field
- Providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with site personnel
- Supporting the continued growth of Alfabs Mining's field service presence across Queensland
- Working safely and complying with all mine site and company safety procedures

About You

- To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Electrical Trade Qualification – essential minimum requirement
- AS/NZS 2290 Hazardous Area Inspection and Maintenance certification
- Demonstrated experience working with AS/NZS 3800 explosion-protected (Ex) electrical equipment
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing underground coal mining equipment
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a field service environment and as part of a high-performing team
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Willingness to travel to customer mine sites and work overtime and call-outs when required
- Experience with PLCs, VSDs and mining automation systems

Highly Regarded

- Extensive underground coal mining experience
- Current Coal Board Medical
- AS/NZS 3800 repair and overhaul experience or qualifications
- Previous field service experience supporting Queensland underground coal operations
