Accounting Specialist

Merritt Contracting is looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team!

Merritt Contracting is a well-established, locally operated company with over 26 years of experience in the construction industry. Our company includes both concrete and civil construction divisions , providing quality construction services throughout the Lebanon and Indianapolis Metro areas. We typically bid and perform work within approximately a 60-mile radius of our Lebanon office .

We are looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our office team. This is a Monday–Friday, in-office position at our Lebanon, Indiana location .

Position Responsibilities

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable

- Enter and maintain accounting records accurately

- Assist with billings and customer accounts

- Process vendor invoices and payments

- Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end processes

- Maintain organized financial records and documentation

- Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal staff regarding accounting questions

- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

- Assist HR when needed

Qualifications

- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Ability to handle confidential information professionally

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

- Ability to work independently while also being a team player
