Pay Range: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour, based on experience

PART 1 — JOB POSTING / DESCRIPTION

Shamin Hotels is seeking a dependable, hard-working Houseperson to support the housekeeping team at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Housepersons keep the hotel clean, stocked, and running smoothly behind the scenes so our guests enjoy a seamless stay. This role is assigned an AM or PM shift at hire; duties vary by shift as outlined below. If you take pride in a clean, well-organized property and like staying busy, we'd like to meet you.

What You'll Do — All Shifts

- Collect, transport, and remove trash throughout the property.

- Handle laundry — receiving, moving, and removing linen as directed.

- Clean and maintain stairwells.

- Respond to guest calls and requests promptly and courteously.

- Keep back-of-house areas, closets, and work spaces clean and organized.

AM Shift Focus

- Strip guest rooms and deliver soiled linen to laundry.

- Clean and maintain floors, hallways, and ice rooms.

- Maintain housekeeping closets — keeping them clean, organized, and orderly.

- Complete assigned projects and deep-cleaning tasks.

- Receive and remove laundry as directed throughout the shift.

PM Shift Focus

- Handle evening laundry and trash removal.

- Clean and maintain stairwells.

- Restock housekeeping closets to set the next day's team up for success.

Schedule

Open availability seven days a week, including weekends and holidays, is required. Shifts are assigned at hire and may be 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, or 4:00 PM–12:00 AM based on business needs.

Benefit eligibility is determined by employment classification (full-time or part-time) and is governed by the terms of your offer letter and applicable plan documents.

Qualifications

Essential Job Functions:

• Strip rooms - remove bed linens, terry, and trash.

• Cleans hallways, corridors, elevators, stairways, ice rooms, trash areas, and linen closets.

• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners.

• Dusts fixtures, frames, and equipment.

• Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.

• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.

• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.

• Empties wastebaskets

• Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.

• Stocks and delivers supplies.

• Replaces light bulbs.

• Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.

• Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.

• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.

• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.

• Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.

• Must have reliable transportation to and from work

• Customer Service Skills required.

• Prioritization and time management skills required.
