The   Lead Electrical Engineer   will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of electrical systems for advanced industrial automation equipment, including aseptic filling   workcells .

This role reports to the   Engineering Manager, Aseptic Filling   and is part of   the   Engineering   Team   located   in   Burnaby, BC   and will be an on-site role .

What you will do :

- Develop comprehensive electrical design documentation for industrial automation systems—such as schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and bills of materials—using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical , SolidWorks ).
- Design and implement electrical systems from early-stage R&D prototypes to production-ready solutions, including   component   s pecification and sizing , DFMEA, requirements traceability (RTM), verification   and   validation testing , and   compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards (IEEE, NEC, IEC, CE, UL, CSA).
- Support hands-on activities related to cable assembly, electrical   component   integration, equipment installation, and other development and testing tasks.
- Create and   optimize   3D layouts of electrical components within enclosures, control panels, and junction boxes, aligning with manufacturability, serviceability, and safety requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of existing products   throug h   cross-functional   collaboration   (mechanical, controls, manufacturing,   quality , etc. ) ,   deliver ing   robust, integrated automation solutions.

Who you are:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering   or equivalent, with 3–7 years of relevant industry experience, including development of electrical and pneumatic design documentation using platforms   like   AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
- Hands -on experience with electrical system integration, from wiring and panel builds to commissioning activities.
- Solid understanding of industrial components such as motors, drives, sensors, and automation equipment.
- Experience supporting cross-functional engineering projects, contributing to planning, prioritization, risk tracking, and execution of technical milestones.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including application of structured engineering methodologies such as   DfX , DFMEA, and root cause analysis, with the ability to work effectively in both R&D and production environments.

It would be a plus if you also   possess :

- Working knowledge of electrical safety and regulatory standards ( IEEE, NEC, IEC, CE, UL, CSA ).
- Registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) as a P.Eng., EIT, etc.
- Experience with PCB/PCBA design and circuit analysis.
- Experience with power systems and /or   power electronics .
- Experience   with   robotics systems or motion control (servo/stepper systems).
- High-level familiarity with PLC-controlled automation systems and industrial controls architecture.
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies or structured problem-solving frameworks (e.g., Lean, DBS).

The salary range   for this role is   $75,000 -$85,000 .   This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of   possible compensation   for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be   modified   in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
