What does a Maintenance Technician do?

- Completion of assigned maintenance projects (i.e. painting, plumbing, carpentry)

- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance

- Completes cleaning duties including, but not limited to, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing, trash removal, and sanitizing

- Replaces and maintains inventory of consumable supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper)

- Oversee cleaning checklists and logs

- Setting up and cleaning up after special program events

- Assists in closing and opening of the facility

- Must have the ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, SDS information sheets, and instructions

- Assists with pool maintenance in accordance with training

- Responsible for exterior maintenance (i.e. trim trees, lighting, pressure washing)

- Complete assigned work orders in timely manner

- Provide vendors assess and support as needed

- Provides exceptional customer service and fosters connections with members

- Participating and satisfactory completion of in-service trainings

Qualifications

- Must be at least 21 years old

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Previous related work experience preferred

- Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire

- Complete all required Branch and Position specific trainings as required within two weeks of hire

- Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance

- Maintain a valid California driver’s license, active participation in the California DMV Pull Program, an acceptable driving record and approval status as determined by the Channel Islands YMCA and/or its insurance carrier
