About this role

We are looking for an Embedded Linux BSP Developer to support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of low-level embedded software for ARM-based automotive platforms. This role focuses on the software stack from bootloader and secure boot through Linux kernel, device drivers, board bring-up, build systems, and production diagnostics. The ideal candidate has strong C development experience at the kernel or bootloader level, is comfortable working close to the hardware, and can troubleshoot issues that cross software, hardware, build, and production environments.

What you'll do

- Develop, integrate, and maintain Board Support Package software for ARM-based embedded platforms.

- Work on low-level software components including bootloaders, Linux kernel configuration, device trees, platform drivers, and OS-level system services.

- Develop and debug Linux kernel drivers for hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, PCIe, USB, GPIO, PMICs, storage devices, and related peripherals.

- Support board bring-up, hardware/software integration, and troubleshooting across multiple product generations.

- Work with embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto, OpenEmbedded, and BitBake to build, configure, and maintain software images.

- Support secure boot, image signing, hardware fuse provisioning, A/B boot flows, update reliability, and production software deployment.

- Investigate and resolve complex issues using kernel logs, crash dumps, boot logs, field diagnostics, and hardware-level debugging information.

- Develop Python or shell-based tooling to support build automation, testing, diagnostics, manufacturing, and software integration workflows.

- Collaborate with hardware, software, test, manufacturing, and systems teams to deliver reliable embedded software for production programs.

What you'll need to get the job done

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

- 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience.

- Strong C development experience at the Linux kernel, bootloader, driver, or board-support level.

- Experience with ARM-based SoCs, bootchain development, board bring-up, and low-level hardware/software integration.

- Experience developing or debugging Linux kernel drivers, including device tree, platform drivers, interrupt handling, and power management.

- Experience with embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto, OpenEmbedded, or BitBake.

- Working knowledge of common hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, PCIe, USB, GPIO, PMIC, NAND, or eMMC.

- Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root cause across software, hardware, build, and system boundaries.

- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI tools, and automation using Python, shell scripting, Jenkins, GitHub, or similar tools.

What will make us REALLY love you

- Experience with automotive embedded platforms, telematics control units, infotainment systems, or other vehicle-connected embedded products.

- Experience with secure boot, TrustZone, hardware root of trust, image signing, dm-verity, SELinux, A/B updates, or OTA update reliability.

- Experience with automotive Ethernet, including 100BASE-T1, 1000BASE-T1, TC10 sleep/wake, Ethernet PHY integration, or related diagnostics.

- Familiarity with UEFI/EDK2, Fastboot, NAND/eMMC flash management, partition table design, or production signing infrastructure.

- Awareness of automotive software standards or practices such as ISO 26262, AUTOSAR concepts, or production release discipline.

- Experience debugging production or field issues using pstore, minidumps, kernel logs, crash dumps, or other diagnostic tools.

- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to support code review, refactoring, driver integration, test generation, or embedded software troubleshooting.
