Department   Overview

We are building the infrastructure for Rakuten Life Insurance's services.

This is a crucial position that supports the foundation of Rakuten Life Insurance, using   new technologies   to prepare the necessary environment for applications to run, creating an environment where business divisions can work more easily, and improving Rakuten Life Insurance's services.

This role involves supporting the server infrastructure of Rakuten Life Insurance.

You will   be responsible for   designing, building,   operating , and   maintaining   the server infrastructure necessary for applications to run.

Working closely with development teams, you will be involved in all stages of the work, from upstream to downstream processes,   in close proximity to   the users.

This is a staffing increase to strengthen our system infrastructure, including servers, and to promote in-house development.

Position   Details

You will be primarily responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of servers supporting the life insurance business.

Server Engineer

-   Mainly responsible   for the design, build, and maintenance of server and middleware environments for development, testing, and production systems.

Project Management

-   Lead planning and execution as a project leader (PL) for server and storage replacement and refresh initiatives.

Incident Response

-   Handle incidents occurring in the system infrastructure and drive root cause analysis and problem resolution.

Vendor Management

-   Work closely with external vendors to deliver and   maintain   system infrastructure in collaboration with outsourced partners.

The System Infrastructure Department consists of three groups: the Infrastructure Construction Group, the Operations Group, and the Network Management Group. You are slated to be assigned to the Infrastructure Construction Group.

Mandatory Qualifications :

-   At least 2 years of experience in requirements definition, design, and implementation of Windows Server environments

-   At least 3 years of experience in middleware design and implementation

-   At least 1 year of experience in Linux server design and implementation

-   At least 2 years of experience as an in-house system engineer (internal IT)

-   At least 2 years of experience in project management

Desired Qualifications :

-   Experience in building virtualized environments

-   At least 2 years of experience in operating and   maintaining   VMware products (vSphere / Horizon)

-   Experience serving as a project leader for end-to-end, system-wide initiatives

-   Work experience in the financial services industry

-   Self-starter: Not passive—takes ownership and proactively drives tasks forward

-   Strong communication   and influencing skills: Able to work effectively with other departments and move stakeholders toward alignment through   appropriate communication

-   Hands-on mindset: Able to execute tasks personally—not only manage—such as system implementation, troubleshooting, and incident investigation
