About this role

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Maintaining all aspects of the building (interior and exterior) by performing any necessary minor repairs. Minor repairs can include, but are not limited to certain aspects of : Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Wall repair, Carpentry, Masonry, Basic construction and repair, Basic appliance repair.

- Knowledge of fire codes / safety

- Move furniture when necessary

- Install, build, assemble Program equipment

- Shovel sidewalks of ice/snow

- Attend in-service trainings

- Report any safety/maintenance hazards to your supervisor and repairing what can be repaired

- Respond to work orders in a timely basis and provide exceptional customer service

- Be available to drive for any given program, in case of emergency, when available

- Attend scheduled meetings with the Facilities Supervisor and/or Manager

- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

- Light plumbing, change faucets, pull and reinstall rear mount toilets, snake drains with a power snake

- Interact appropriately and follow all regulatory items concerning the individuals we serve

- Mandatory attendance at required in-service training, along with ability to absorb and demonstrate compliance with all regulations and Block Institute policy and procedure requirements is required for this position

- Troubleshooting and making routine repairs in the following areas:

Painting

- Minor Electrical

- Minor Plumbing

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

3 Years Experience Preferred

A valid NYS Drivers License
