Job Description
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to load and unload inbound and outbound trailers.
- Load and unload freight from local Pickup and Delivery (P&D) units.
- Accurately document any overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D) in accordance with company procedures.
- Reweigh and cube freight as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock and yard area, ensuring it is free of debris.
- Perform some heavy lifting as needed to move and handle freight.
- Assist customers with freight pick-ups and drop-offs in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform general cleaning duties for the dock and trailers.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work afternoon and night shifts when operational needs require.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating a forklift.
- Excellent punctuality and attendance are an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with customers.
- Positive attitude
