Barista

Job Purpose:
- The Barista is responsible for creating and delivering an exceptional Starbucks experience to customers by preparing high-quality coffee and tea beverages, providing outstanding customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role involves working collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service and uphold Starbucks’ commitment to quality and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, adhering to Starbucks recipes and quality standards.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and offering product recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar, equipment, and customer seating areas.
- Operate coffee-making equipment and perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage cash transactions accurately and efficiently, following all cash handling procedures.
- Uphold Starbucks’ standards of quality, safety, and sustainability in all aspects of work.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge of Starbucks products and services.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and restocking supplies as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Experience in food and beverage preparation or handling is an advantage.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and understanding measurements.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
