McKinnon's Market & Super Butcher Shop is looking for friendly, dependable Cashiers to join our Wilmington team.

As a Cashier, you will help create a positive and lasting impression by providing courteous, efficient service throughout each customer's visit. You'll accurately process purchases, answer questions and help maintain a clean, organized Front End.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, communicates well and can remain friendly and attentive in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service

- Accurately scan merchandise and process cash, credit, debit and gift card transactions

- Collect payments, make change and maintain an accurate cash drawer

- Contact a supervisor when change or a cash pickup is needed

- Follow through on customer questions and requests

- Assist customers with gift card purchases

- Help maintain clean, organized and attractive Front End and customer service areas

- Retrieve shopping carts from outside as needed

- Follow established cleaning, food-safety and equipment-maintenance procedures

- Learn about store products, promotions and product locations

- Communicate effectively with Front End associates and store leadership

- Immediately report safety concerns, hazards or security issues

- Properly care for registers and other Front End equipment

- Support the Front End Manager and store leadership with department needs

- Maintain regular and dependable attendance

- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Friendly, courteous and customer-focused

- Dependable, self-motivated and willing to take initiative

- Able to communicate clearly and work well as part of a team

- Comfortable handling cash and completing transactions accurately

- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn register systems

- Able to stay organized and attentive in a fast-paced environment

- Flexible availability based on the needs of the department

- Previous cashier or customer service experience is helpful, but not required
