Role Overview
The Graduate Analyst is a key member of the Client Team, providing broad support across business development, client relationship management, and operational activities.
This is an early career role suited to a high performing graduate, ideally from a leading business school, with 1 years’ cumulative work experience (i.e. which may have been gained through a combination of internships, placements, or other relevant work experience ) in financial services.
Working closely with the Client Team and reporting to Tim Evans, the Graduate Analyst will play a hands-on role in helping the team grow and manage client relationships, build and maintain our business development infrastructure, and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. The role expects a strong knowledge and proactive use of AI and automation tools to drive efficiency and quality across all areas of responsibility.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem solving abilities, exceptional communication skills, a desire to grow their expertise in business development and a genuine interest in the investment management industry. They will gain exposure to UHNW clients, family offices, and senior investment professionals, with the opportunity to attend client meetings as their experience develops.
This is a varied and dynamic role offering exposure to all aspects of client-facing activity in a private markets investment firm. The successful candidate will develop quickly by working alongside experienced professionals and taking on meaningful responsibilities from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal & Pitch Preparation
- Structure and draft first drafts of proposals, pitchbooks, and client presentations, coordinating inputs from across the team.
- Maintain consistent, high-quality house style across all business development materials.
- Assist senior team members in tailoring materials for specific client meetings and prospect engagements.
CRM Management & Data Integrity
- Take ownership of day-to-day CRM maintenance, ensuring contact records, interactions, and pipeline data are kept accurate and up to date.
- Improve data hygiene and implement a centralised, consistent approach to CRM (Foliometrics) usage across the Client Team.
- Leverage AI tools to surface follow-up prompts, cross-selling opportunities, and actionable insights — preventing the CRM from becoming a passive database.
- Use AI tools (eg for summarisation, drafting, data structuring and workflow automation)
Client & Investment Presentation Support
- Assist the Client Team and relevant partners in preparing high-quality client-facing charts, slides, and supporting narratives.
- Support the production of investment materials, portfolio analyses, and communications relating to the firm's private investments programme.
- Enable senior professionals to focus on judgement, messaging, and client engagement by handling the analytical and presentational groundwork.
Prospecting & Marketing
- Build and maintain targeted prospect lists segmented by investor type (e.g. FoFs, HNWIs, entrepreneurs, PE executives, family offices) and geography.
- Support marketing and outreach initiatives, working alongside the broader BD effort to develop strategies for approaching new prospects.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for client events, roadshows, and marketing campaigns.
Pipeline & Reporting Support
- Assist with pipeline tracking, FolioMetrics updates, scorecards, and board-level reporting to ensure accuracy and reduce last-minute pressure.
- Prepare periodic reporting on business development activity, client engagement, and pipeline status.
- Support the team in tracking and following up on outstanding actions arising from client meetings and events.
Team & Business Management Support
- Assist Head of Client Team with business management administration, including scheduling, documentation, and internal coordination.
- Prepare CPD certificates for the team following manager meetings or jointly attended events, supporting CISI compliance.
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the team as required, covering tasks that would otherwise fall to senior staff.
- Ensure that intern projects and initiatives are carried forward and completed — including, for example, manager digestion packs and similar research outputs.
Experience & Skills
- Recent graduate (with 1 years’ cumulative work experience gained through internships, placements or other relevant roles),) ideally from a leading business school, with a degree in finance, , business, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint; highly proficient in Excel (to include previous basic modelling experience), with the ability to produce polished, professional materials.
- Strong knowledge of CRM tool, preferably Foliometrics, or similar
- Strong knowledge of AI tools and automation, with the ability to apply these to improve the quality and efficiency of day-to-day tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and a high standard of presentation.
- A proactive, organised approach to managing workload across multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Genuine interest in client relationship/business development, private markets, investment management, or financial services.
- Prior internship or work experience in investment management, financial services, or a professional services environment is advantageous but not required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline from a well regarded university or business school.
- Progress towards or interest in pursuing a professional qualification such as the IMC, CFA, or CISI is desirable.
