About this role

Your Role as a Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse, you will lead the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that supports the health, wellbeing, dignity and independence of our residents. Working permanent night shifts, you will provide holistic nursing care using a biopsychosocial approach, oversee clinical outcomes, support care staff, and ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and evidence-based care aligned with Wesley Mission Queensland's Model of Care and values.

You will play a key role in clinical assessment, care planning, medication management, documentation, team leadership and maintaining a safe, supportive environment for residents, families and colleagues.

What We're Looking For

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated clinical nursing experience and sound understanding of contemporary nursing practice
- Ability to undertake comprehensive assessments, care planning and clinical reviews using a biopsychosocial model of care
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, coach and support Personal Carers, Assistants in Nursing and Enrolled Nurses
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively to changing resident needs
- Commitment to person-centred care, continuous improvement and quality outcomes
- Knowledge of, or ability to quickly develop knowledge of, aged care standards, legislation and accreditation requirements
- Alignment with Wesley Mission Queensland's vision, mission and values

A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!

- Previous experience in residential aged care
- Knowledge of dementia care, palliative care, wound management, infection prevention and pain management
- Experience leading teams within an aged care environment
- Current Driver's Licence
- Additional qualifications or training relevant to aged care nursing

Essential Requirements

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
- Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy, including applicable aged care and NDIS screening requirements
