Construction Inspector

Join a team that's helping build and improve North Carolina's transportation infrastructure. We're looking for a Construction Inspector to perform roadway inspections, asphalt density testing, and materials testing to ensure projects meet NCDOT quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on field role offering the opportunity to work on impactful transportation projects while advancing your career in construction inspection and materials testing. Responsibilities:

- Perform roadway inspections and quality assurance testing on transportation projects.
- Conduct asphalt density testing and inspect asphalt and concrete materials.
- Document test results, inspection findings, and project records accurately.
- Communicate with contractors, project teams, and agency representatives.
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration.
- Promote safety and quality on active construction sites.
- Travel to project locations throughout North Carolina as needed.

Requirements:

- Current NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician Certification OR NCDOT QMS Density Gauge Technician Certification.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience with roadway inspection, materials testing, or construction quality management.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of NCDOT standards and testing procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred:

- Possession of both NCDOT Roadway and Density Gauge certifications.
- NCDOT Conventional Density Technician Certification.
- Concrete inspection experience.
- Civil or transportation construction experience.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
