Transmission Line Engineer
Overview
We're seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to serve as the technical lead on high-voltage transmission projects (138kV-345kV). In this role, you'll provide engineering guidance from project planning through construction, working closely with project managers, design teams, and field personnel to ensure successful project execution. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong transmission line design experience who enjoys leading technical efforts, solving complex engineering challenges, and supporting major utility infrastructure projects.
### Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical execution of transmission line projects. Define project scope, route alignments, structure requirements, and right-of-way assumptions. Support routing, siting, and permitting activities. Provide engineering input for project budgets and schedules. Coordinate with design teams and Engineers of Record (EORs) to ensure quality and compliance. Review engineering deliverables for accuracy and constructability. Support transmission line structure and foundation design efforts. Work closely with project managers to align engineering deliverables with project timelines. Support construction activities by resolving technical issues and responding to field questions. Identify project risks and help develop solutions. Collaborate with engineering, environmental, construction, and stakeholder teams.
### Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university. 7+ years of transmission line engineering experience. Experience supporting utility, transmission, or EPC projects. Working knowledge of transmission line design standards and industry codes. Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or similar transmission line design software. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Experience coordinating with consultants, engineers, and cross-functional project teams.
### Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with transmission line routing and siting. Knowledge of right-of-way (ROW) acquisition and permitting processes. Experience supporting projects within ERCOT or similar utility markets. Familiarity with ProjectWise or other engineering document management platforms. Experience identifying opportunities to improve project cost, schedule, and efficiency.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
