JOB SUMMARY

Use Hydrostatic Testing Methods to check threaded 1" and 2" valve bodies for leaks, helping to ensure the quality of the product.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Verifying information listed on work orders to the task being performed.
- Visually inspecting valve bodies, machinery, and tools for quality.
- Implementing Hydrostatic Testing using Barbee machines to test 1" and 2" valve bodies for leaks.
- Observing valves being tested for any leaks, problems, or safety concerns.
- Using metal stamps to mark valve bodies as required by Engineering Print.
- Maintaining documentation (forms, logs, etc.) as required.
- Keeping work area clean and organized.
- Observing and following all Safety Policies required for Hydro Associate employees.
- Operating the sand blaster to assist the Weld Department as needed.
- Work and assist in other departments as required and perform other duties as assigned.

*Employee may be required to work more or less than 40 hours/week as part of their regular schedule based on production needs.

Qualifications

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Must be dependable and on time to work every day.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other Hydro employees. 
- Ability to verify correctness of components to visual reference.
- Ability to reference Engineering Prints to determine pressure required for hydrostatic testing. 
- Ability to patiently observe valve bodies to identify leaks and problems during testing. 
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. 
- Ability to operate a sand blaster. 
- Ability to cross-train in other departments as production requires. 
- Ability to lift 51lbs or more on occasion with a lifting partner.
