About Us:

AC&T is a family-owned business with a highly diversified range of operations. We own and operate AC&T convenience stores, engage in fuel transportation, and provide residential and commercial propane/heating oil delivery services. Additionally, we lease trailers, mobile storage containers, and portable toilets, as well as develop and lease commercial real estate and self-storage, proximate to the Hagerstown Maryland area.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT Specialist / Technician to join our team. Reporting to the IT Administrator or management, this experienced IT professional will provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers extensive opportunities to learn, work on a wide variety of projects, and grow into a department leadership role.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in Windows-based operating systems (Windows 10/11), iOS, and Android

- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, SharePoint, Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID, Intune and related applications

- Familiarity with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 & 2025 and SQL Server

- Experience with Scale Computing or Hyper-V is a plus

- Relevant certifications such as A+, Security+, Network+ or Fundamentals are preferred

- Knowledge of LAN/WAN Networking concepts required

- Knowledge of MS Excel Macros, VBA and MS SQL programming helpful

- Experience in Sage Applications, Point-of-Rental, AWE ESys, PetroSoft is beneficial

- Experience with VoIP phone systems is beneficial

- An accounting background is helpful but not required

- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to multiple software applications

- Strong understanding of internet security and data privacy principles

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive company information

- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

- Proficient with troubleshooting hardware/software issues

- Creative problem-solving ability and a willingness to think outside the box

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair end-user hardware, software, and network issues through phone, email, and in-person support

- Analyze and document reported production outages/issues, assessing their severity and impact

- Manage users and groups in Active Directory while adhering to information security protocols

- Image, deploy, and configure workstations; facilitate new user setups, including orientation on software and equipment usage

- Install, maintain, upgrade, and repair company hardware and software applications

- Organize and schedule system upgrades and maintenance as required

- Research and recommend modern technologies to improve business operations

- Work both independently and as part of a team to resolve technical challenges

- Participate in on-call support as needed

- Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Physical Demands:

- Requires minimum lifting ability of 30 pounds; may require heavy lifting of 50+ pounds with assistance from other team members and/or equipment
