About this role

This is an on-site position located in Tempe, AZ. The hourly rate is $24.50.

Your typical day

- Consistently provide an exceptional experience to anyone you interact with on-site, so our guests and residents walk away thinking "I have to tell my friends about this place!". Be the loyal, caring friend, local insider and subject-matter-expert of your property and market all rolled into one
- Jump in and communicate with your fellow on-site and off-site property team members to make things happen - work together, provide support and keep our "one team" mentality alive so everyone wins
- Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant environment for all by adhering to established policies, procedures and expectations as they roll out. Ask questions and make sure you understand their impact - we don't mess around with safety, service and operational standards!
- Be hands-on every day by jumping into the action to keep operations running smoothly. Spend 100% of your time supporting your housekeeping team however needed, including managing room priorities, cleaning units when necessary, resolving guest questions or issues, delegating tasks, inspecting rooms, and collaborating closely with other departments to deliver operational excellence
- Set the pace and the standard. By leading from the front, you’ll help your team consistently deliver on room readiness, quality, availability, guest satisfaction, and brand standards - showing what “great” looks like every shift
- Own housekeeping boards from start to finish - build them, update priorities as the day evolves, and make sure the right work gets to the right people at the right time to ensure superior guest satisfaction
- Inspect rooms with a sharp eye and a coaching mindset. Ensure spaces meet Placemakr cleanliness standards and provide clear, in-the-moment feedback, partnering with your property leader or Housekeeping Manager to close gaps (and celebrate wins!)
- Keep inventory top of mind by helping track supplies and flagging needs early, so the team always has what they need to deliver on our cleanliness and comfort standards
- Welcome and help new hires hit the ground running by training on cleanliness, organization and best practices, making sure they feel confident in our standards and day-to-day operations. Share tips and learnings with tenured team members to raise the bar together
- Support daily Housekeeper and Houseperson effectiveness by leading stand-ups and check-ins, offering real-time feedback, helping track time and attendance, and ensuring shift coverage when needed.
- Learn the people-leadership ropes by partnering with your property leader or Housekeeping Manager on performance conversations, interviews, scheduling, and other moments that shape the team experience

What it takes

- 3+ years of previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (hospitality-specific experience a plus!).
- 1+ year of experience as a team lead, supervisor or mentor which allows you to excel at supervising all housekeeping team members during your shift.
- You demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- You have experience with independently managing your tasks and remaining organized.
- Demonstrated experience with effectively communicating in-the-moment feedback to team members in an appropriate way.
- You lead by example, have a can-do attitude and the ability to work effectively in an independent and collaborative environment, contributing to a culture of proactive communication, unity and mutual support.
- You exceed expectations in all Housekeeper III skills.

- Housekeeping Supervisors will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time) and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical for our Housekeeping Supervisors and an exceptional guest experience.
