Carpenter Dental is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Dental Sterile Technician to join our dynamic dental team. This essential role ensures the cleanliness, sterilization, and proper organization of dental instruments and equipment, maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Instrument Sterilization and Maintenance

- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments using autoclaves and other sterilization equipment.

- Conduct routine maintenance of sterilization equipment and promptly report issues.

- Monitor sterilization processes to ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.

- Equipment Organization

- Prepare trays and instruments for dental procedures.

- Maintain accurate inventory of sterile supplies and reorder as necessary.

- Ensure proper storage and labeling of instruments.

- Compliance and Safety

- Adhere to OSHA, CDC, and other regulatory standards for infection control and sterilization.

- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized sterilization area and dental operatory.

- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on sterilization techniques and best practices.

- Team Support

- Collaborate with dental assistants and clinicians to ensure seamless workflow.

- Assist with setup and breakdown of operatory rooms as needed.

- Provide excellent internal customer service to support the dental team and enhance patient care.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

- Previous experience in a dental or medical sterilization role is preferred but not required.

- Familiarity with sterilization equipment and procedures.

- Certification in Infection Control (e.g., DANB’s Infection Control Exam) is a plus.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

- Manual dexterity to handle instruments and operate sterilization equipment.
